What I Believe Happened During The Memphis Race Riot
In Todayââ¬â¢s Society we are dealing with things such as racism, wrongful incarceration, policy brutality and many more. Police Brutality is when excessive force is used by a police officer. In todayââ¬â¢s time it has become not just excessive but deadly. The issues that really needs to be up for discussion is the innocent lives that are being taken due to the way officers are treating our citizens. In the early dayââ¬â¢s police brutality applied to poor labor workers meaning black slaves. This is what I believe happened during the Memphis Race Riot. In 1866 Memphis, Tennessee was exposed to the worst racist hassle in history. There was a total number of forty-six blacks and two whites died during the hassle. More than 80 people were injured, hundreds were robbed, a total of five women raped, homes of ninety-one individuals were burned, homes and churches were burned and destroyed, and almost seventeen thousand dollarsââ¬â¢ of federal property was destroyed. Hundreds of African Americans were jailed, and mostly the emancipated slaves left town until the convulsion was over. It was said that for three days straight that white cliques which included police officers, fire fighters, and some capitalists, attacked the camps and neighborhoods of emancipated slaves. Panther Power When we think of the Civil Rights Movement, we often think of the most prominent leaders like Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks, and Malcolm X whoââ¬â¢ve surely paved the way for the beginning of the movement. However many times we overlook the ones who arenââ¬â¢t talked about in the classrooms during Black History Month, or when weââ¬â¢re discussing the Civil Rights Movement. In response, I dedicate my paper on an African-American Organization to those who promoted the freedom and rights of Black Americans and minorities just as much as Martin Luther King Jr or any other leader or organization during the movement. The greatly controversial Black Panther Party (BPP) In October of 1966 in Oakland, California, Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale founded The Black Panther Party for Self-Defense. They adopted their Black Panther symbol from an independent political party established the previous year. While they both attended college, they dreamed of a racially equal America and wanted to actively participate in the Civil Rights Movement but knew they couldnââ¬â¢t do it alone. I thought I knew what fire was. I saw the little tongues of it on candle wicks, and bonfires fed on newspapers and the snapped arms of trees, and the forest fires that sometimes broke out on I-95, and I thought: itââ¬â¢s all the same. They all start slow, burn fast, burn hard, burn intense and out of control. I watched the liquid, undulating motion of the flames, and saw only hardness, only raw power, only destruction. And I thought: thatââ¬â¢s what I must have. The power to change. The power to move people with my words the way fire blisters skin, the way wind manipulates flames. I thought: thatââ¬â¢s the only way. And I was wrong. In Advanced Placement U.S. History last year, we watched a video on the Triangle Shirtwaist factory fire, in which one-hundred and twenty-five women burned to death. We saw, in tinny reporter voices and grainy photographs, the girls dying all over again. The families that had to rise up from the literal ashes and go on living, reeling and numb with grief. Thatââ¬â¢s what broke my heart. Not a fire powerful enough to wipe out one-hundred and twenty-five lives in thirty minutes; the dusty, desolate aftermath. It wasnââ¬â¢t the fire that resonated with me, and it wasnââ¬â¢t the fire that killed those girls. The smoke pushed its fingers down their throats and they choked on it. The asphalt below broke their bodies when they threw themselves from the windows. Fear got them before the fire did. Squeezed their hearts so hard they burst, and all the fire got were shells of girls already gone. Fire has power, yes. But there are stronger things. I donââ¬â¢t know that I can pinpoint one moment where I changed my mindââ¬âabout fire, and power, and what caught my breath an d made my hands shake. It could be me, slumped in my desk in U.S. History, watching the poor-quality video of the Triangle Shirtwaist fire with smoke pouring into the clouds and my heart in my mouth. It is that. That changed me. But thereââ¬â¢re more, too. Itââ¬â¢s seeing the look in a manââ¬â¢s eyes when his heart is broken. Itââ¬â¢s anger that leaves you cold. Itââ¬â¢s looking out the backseat window of a ââ¬â¢94 Toyota Corolla with my girlfriends laughing and singing up front, music making my head throb, and the morbid flash: what would happen if we crashed? Picturing the car crumpled with its belly turned up like beetles long dead and the tires spinning, and me still inside with blood on my mouth. Itââ¬â¢s the small moments, insignificant lapses in your day that make you who you are. That take you up and change you, irrevocably, forever. Power is more than disturbing pictures, fires that only destroy, music that squeezes your whole body. You donââ¬â¢t get power without feeling. Youââ¬â¢ve got to feel it in your bones. Itââ¬â¢s got to take your breath and hold it fast. Itââ¬â¢s got to shake you to the core. A fireââ¬â¢s only fearsome with fuel at its back. I used to think power was an all-or-nothing game. Either you had itââ¬âhot, unyielding, all-encompassingââ¬âor you didnââ¬â¢t. I was wrong. I know now that thereââ¬â¢s more than one way to burn.

Cold Dark Matter (CDM)
Cold Dark Matter (CDM) The universe is made up of at least two kinds of matter. Primarily, theres the material we can detect, which astronomers call baryonic matter. Its thought of as ordinary matter because its made of protons and neutrons, which can be measured. Baryonic matter includes stars and galaxies, plus all the objects they contain. However, there is also stuff out there in the universe that cant be detected through normal observational means. Yet, it does exist because astronomers can measure its gravitational effect on baryonic matter. Astronomers call this material dark matter because, well, its dark. It doesnt reflect or emit light. This mysterious form of matter presents some major challenges to understanding a great many things about the universe, going right back to the beginning, some 13.7 billion years ago.à The Discovery of Dark Matter Decades ago, astronomers found that there wasnt enough mass in the universe to explain things like the rotation of stars inà galaxies and the movements of star clusters. Mass affects an objects motion through space, whether its a galaxy or a star or a planet. Judging by the way some galaxies rotated, for example, it appeared that there was more mass out there somewhere. But, it wasnt being detected. It was somehow missing from the mass inventory they assembled using stars and nebulae to assign a galaxy a given mass. Dr. Vera Rubin and her team were observing galaxies when they first noticed a difference between expected rotation rates (based on estimated masses of those galaxies) and the actual rates they observed. Researchers began to dig more deeply into figuring out where all the missing mass had gone. They considered that perhaps ourà understanding of physics, i.e. general relativity, was flawed, but too many other things didnt add up. So, they decided that perhaps the mass was still there, but simply not visible. While it is still possible that we are missing something fundamental in our theories of gravity, the second option has been more palatable to physicists. Out of that revelation was born the idea of dark matter. Theres observational evidence for it around galaxies, and theories and models point to the involvement of dark matter early in the universes formation. So, astronomers and cosmologists know its out there, but havent yet figured out what it is yet. Cold Dark Matter (CDM) So, what could dark matter be? As of yet, there are only theories and models. They can actually be slotted into three general groups: hot dark matter (HDM), warm dark matter (WDM), and cold dark matter (CDM). Of the three, CDM has long been the leading candidate for what this missing mass in the universe is. However, some researchers still favor a combination theory, where aspects of all three types of dark matter exist together to make up the total missing mass. CDM is a kind of dark matter that, if it exists, moves slowly compared to the speed of light. It is thought to have been present in the universe since the very beginning and has very likely influenced the growth and evolution of galaxies. as well as the formation of the first stars. Astronomers and physicists think that its most likely some exotic particle that hasnt yet been detected. It very likely has some very specific properties: It would have to lack an interaction with the electromagnetic force. This is fairly obvious, since dark matter is dark. Therefore it doesnt interact with, reflect, or radiate any type of energy in the electromagnetic spectrum.à However, any candidate particle that makes up cold dark matter would have to take into account that it has to interact with a gravitational field. For proof of this, astronomers have noticed that dark matter accumulations in galaxy clusters wield a gravitational influence on light from more distant objects that happens to be passing by. This so-called gravitational lensing effect has been observed many times. Candidate Cold Dark Matter Objects While no known matter meets all of the criteria for cold dark matter, at least three theories have been advanced to explain CDM (if they exist). Weakly Interacting Massive Particles: Also known as WIMPs, these particles, by definition, meet all the needs of CDM. However, no such particle has ever been found to exist. WIMPs have become the catch all term for all cold dark matter candidates, regardless of why the particle is thought to arise.à Axions: These particles possess (at least marginally) the necessary properties of dark matter, but for various reasons are probably not the answer to the question of cold dark matter..MACHOs: This is an acronym for Massive Compact Halo Objects, which are objects like black holes, ancient neutron stars, brown dwarfs and planetary objects. These are all non-luminous and massive. But, because of their large sizes, both in terms of volume and mass, they would be relatively easy to detect by monitoring localized gravitational interactions. However, there are problems with the MACHO hypothesis. The observed motion of galaxies, for instance, is uniform in a way that would be hard to explain if MACHOs supplied the missing mass. Furthermore, star clusters would require a very uniform distribution of such objects within their boundaries. That seems very unlikely. Analysis of Lucina Matlock by Edgar Lee Masters :: essays research papers
The major poets of the early twentieth century tended to reflect in their poetry elements of the rural, agrarian society in which they lived, much of their work focused on traditional American values and yet foreshadowed the changing character of America, hinting at the factors that ushered the changes of the twentieth century: war, urbanization, technological development, increased mobility, and the emergence of minority voices in culture. Edgar Lee Masters indited 243 poems about the people buried in the Spoon River?s Cemetery, which is where the poem Lucinda Matlock came from. Each character speaks from the grave about his own epigraph. Lucinda lived a very long life of ninety-six years. From what Masters conveyed with his poem, it seemed like Lucinda enjoyed her life and was very satisfied with everything she had accomplished. In the first few lines of the poem she talks about going to different dances and how the frequently switched partners, until one day she met Davis. They were soon married and stayed together for seventy years. She and Davis had twelve children, but eight of them died. How the eight children died when never explained in the poem, but it could relate to the time period in which the poem was placed in. In the early 1900?s it was normal to have many children, but unless a family had the resources needed, some of the children may die. She also did many activities such as spinning, weaving, kept the house up and also nursed the sick, which could relate to the time period this poem is taking place in also. The intent that the author was trying to get across is one that, people could life happy live s in a very simplistic way, such as Lucinda did. In his poems, Masters used free verse patterns to make his subjects seem more natural. There are really no historical or literary allusions in this poem. Although she barely includes any similes or metaphors in her poem, there are a few. Lucinda says at the end of the poem ?Life is too strong for you?It takes life to love Life?. Lucinda has a very satisfied tone, which means that she was very happy with her life. By saying that, she is relating that she was very satisfied and happy with her life. Although these poems do not say much about the era that they are in or the social class that these people come from a person could tell a lot just by the poem.

Coca Cola in Belgium
1) How could the Belgium problem have damaged Coca Cola? Coca-Cola had been creating a really strong and successful image, and people had great sympathy for the brand. But because of the Belgian scandal, the credibility of the umbrella brand was being doubted. First of all, customers (mainly from Belgium and France at the beginning) were scared of drinking Coca-Cola products. For example, parents did not want their kids to get contaminated. More so, the brand was not giving a specific reason for these incidents, and by not reacting soon enough the quality of their products was at stake.Because of that, the Belgian government imposed strict hygienic conditions to recover the right to sell their products again. Therefore, the rest of European countries had an ââ¬Å"excuseâ⬠to distrust the brand, even if the Belgian authorities reacted a bit extremely due to the former chicken crisis. Suppliers and distributors around Europe were also impacted. Coca-Cola, as a global brand, had h ad to trust its bottlers to follow the quality values the company held, but this scandal challenged the current control of Coca-Cola over its supplier's plants.But these suppliers also were scared of the consequences of their relationship with Coca-Cola in this crisis. Coca-Cola also suffered a financial impact because of this crisis. The withdrawal of their products had a negative impact on the second quarter net income of the year 1999, with a decrease of 21%. Not only that, but the cost of the entire operation escalated to $103 million. All around the world investors were afraid of the money invested in the company, and this affected a decrease of the share value on Wall Street.The competitors saw this crisis as an opportunity, and increased their promotion in order to steal part of Coca-Cola's market share. They took advantage of Coca-Cola's weak image during those days to claim their own high quality. Despite all of this damage during June and July (partly due to the slow react ion of Coca-Cola), by the beginning of August the core users of Coca-Cola brands had regained the same purchasing intent than before the crisis. Hence, we can conclude that even if there was a big impact in the short term, this crisis did not affect the image of the company in the long term. ) Is the problem solely limited to Belgium? Solely to Europe? Or is it a global problem? It is worth mentioning that this was the first crisis of these characteristics that Coca-Cola suffered. Until then, it had been the most famous and successful global company, but a located problem in a relatively small country as Belgium had repercussions in Wall Street. It is true that the center of Europe was the most affected area for this problem: the cases of sickness were reported in Belgium and in France only, but it also affected the rest of the European market (Luxemburg and Dutch, for example.It even made the European Commission involved, which recriminated the company for not giving enough explana tions. However, it was not only the Eurpean market who was affected: they reported a worldwide loss of 1% of sales, and during 10 days they lost a 13% in share value. Therefore, the Atlanta Headquarter had to react, and Douglas Ivester (CEO) had to make a public international apologies. Nevertheless, Coca-Cola is produced locally rather than globally, so they could have reduced this global impact by informing about the production and distribution process.In conclusion, the brand image and reputation of Coca-Cola was affected globally, but especially in Europe, as it is where it had direct impact. Although thanks to Coca-Cola's strength, its global profitability only received a short term impact. 3) Is it feasible for the company to regain its image? In this particular case, we already know that Coca-Cola was able to regain its image. But it is interesting to see what were the reasons of the recovery, and whether they can be used by other companies.First of all, this crisis started a s a phenomenon of mass hysteria, which happen periodically. They tend to have huge impact in the short term, but the long term is barely affected. Most recent example would be the avian flu, which had few casualties but caused a great disturbance. Second, the company had more than enough resources, the know-how and the influence to regain the confidence of its stakeholders through communication. After all, they were highly regarded by most consumers and markets, and recognized as a global, ââ¬Å"caringâ⬠brand.Third, we have now (not that much in Coca-Cola's particular case) the example of other global brands that had comparable problems and were able to recover, through both communication and other acts. One very well known problem was that of Nike, and the whole scandal of child labor during the 90's and early 00's. They reacted fast, and instead of trying to cover it up, admitted it and acted in order to end the problem, and convince their stakeholders that they had 4) If y ou had to design an advertising campaign, what objective would you propose? And what actions other than advertising would you undertake?The scandal suffered in Belgium was also a reason for European authorities (and each country's authorities) to expose their doubts about Coca-Cola. Thus it would be advised to have an all-around campaign to prove the company's integrity and its commitment on social responsibility in front of all of the stakeholders, not only the consumers. Some ideas we discussed that could be included in this campaign during the hysteria are the following: * The crisis was directly linked to Coca-Cola cans. Because of that, Coca-Cola should promote bottles rather than cans.Unconsciously the human brain would not link the bottles with the crisis. * The main focus of the campaign should be on emotional arguments, as functional arguments are compromised. * Similar to the first idea, prevent damage over other brands (Fanta, Nestea) by advertising them individually, so the consumers do not link them directly to Coca-Cola. These communications could be supported with PR. If we can convince the media of the commitment on quality, positive comments will help calm down the consumers and minimize the impact of the hysteria.John Emsley's article in The Independent is the perfect example of of how this comments can benefit Coca-Cola. It is also advised that the ethics assessement should not be used as a tool to evaluate the behaviors of others (ACHE, 2012). After successful completion of the self-assessment, I learned that I am likely to consider the vision and mission of my organization in my day to day job assignments. There were a lot of the questions in the assessment that did not reflect toward my day to day operations but for those that did, I always used the ethical approach of my organization. I am also one that tries to avoid conflict and controvesy. I know at times these are not easy to avoid but I try to as much as possible. I never promote discussion of controversial issues. This is also another way of avoiding conflict. ââ¬Å"The fundamental objectives of the healthcare management profession are to maintain or enhance the overall quality of life, dignity and well-being of every individual needing healthcare service and to create a more equitable, accessible, effective and efficient healthcare systemâ⬠(Board of Governors, 2011). My current employment does not deal with direct patient care. I collect data that is used for clinical research for cancer patients but even in the data collection, I am ethical in my approach. I make sure that my data is accurate and collected in a timely manner for the benefit of the treatment outcome of the patient. Although I am not directly working with patients, I still feel that it is my ethical duty to be effective and efficient in my clinical research to provide the patients with the best possible patient care. I also want to be an ethical role model for my fellow employees. I have assisted in the training of new employees. I am very accurate in the collection of my data and I instill that in the employees that I am training. The ACHE Code of Ethics states that, ââ¬Å"Itââ¬â¢s necessary to create an organizational environment in which both clinical and management mistakes are minimized and, when they do occur, are disclosed and addressed effectivelyâ⬠, (Board of Governors, 2011). It is your professional and ethical responsibility to report any error that will effective the outcome of a patient. I would have to say that my individual ethics influence my decision making by me being a consciousness person. I have a really guilty conscious about not doing what is right. A guilty conscious allows you to make better decisions and have better actions based off ethical and moral principles. There is always something that chimes in, whenever I feel like the choice I am making is not right. This can be good and bad because in some cases you will have to just do what is best for the situation. Everything does not have a right or wrong. It depends on who is involved with the situation and how they want it handled. A strategic plan to improve ethical decision making in the future, would be to continuing to meet the growing demands of the healthcare field. As a healthcare professional, you have to stay current with the changes. Most licensing bodies require that all medical professionals have to do continuing education courses in order to reinstate healthcare licenses every couple of years. This allows the professional to stay current with all the changes that are happening. In conclusion, as healthcare professional, it is your obligation to continue to work at better ethical behavior for the organization and the patients. It is evident that Hester committed adultery, and has had to deal with the consequences of her actions throughout her life and has had effect on the life of her daughter, pearl. Demmesdale, the man whom she slept with while her husband was away, makes no efforts to help her in this a situation. We later learn in the story that he has committed adultery as well because Pearl is the daughter that came from the result of his affair with Hester. Doesnââ¬â¢t this make him a hypocrite? Demmesdale was publicly accusing, humiliating, and torturing Hester for her sinful actions, when he had committed the same crime himself. He is just as guilty of hypocrisy as the townspeople are. Hester was publicly shamed and forced by the people of Boston to wear a badge of humiliation (the scarlet letter), and when she lavishly decorated the letter ââ¬Å"Aâ⬠which she had to wear on her bosom, they degraded her even more for supposably embracing her sins. The Life and Legend of David Davy Crockett
The Life and Legend of David Davy Crockett David Davy Crockett, known as the King of the Wild Frontier, was an American frontiersman and politician. He was famous as a hunter and outdoorsman. Later, he served in the U.S. Congress before heading west to Texas to fight as a defender at the 1836 Battle of the Alamo, where it is believed he was slain with his comrades by the Mexican army. Crockett remains a well-known figure, particularly in Texas. Crockett was a larger-than-life, American folk hero figure even in his own lifetime, and it can be hard to separate facts from legends when discussing his life. Crockettââ¬â¢s Early Life Crockett was born on August 17, 1786, in Tennessee, then a frontier territory. He ran away from home at the age of 13 and made a living doing odd jobs for settlers and wagon drivers. He returned home at the age of 15. He was an honest and hardworking young man. Of his own free will, he decided to work for six months to pay off one of his fatherââ¬â¢s debts. In his twenties, he enlisted in the Army in time to fight in Alabama in the Creek War. He distinguished himself as a scout and hunter, providing food for his regiment. Crockett Enters Politics After his service in the War of 1812, Crockett had a variety of low-level political jobs such as Assemblyman in the Tennessee legislature and town commissioner. He soon developed a knack for public service. Although he was poorly educated, he possessed a razor-sharp wit and a gift for public speaking. His rough, homespun manner endeared him to many. His bond with the common people of the West was genuine and they respected him. In 1827, he won a seat in Congress representing Tennessee and running as a supporter of the immensely popular Andrew Jackson. Crockett and Jackson Fall Out Crockett was at first a die-hard supporter of fellow westerner Andrew Jackson, but political intrigues with other Jackson supporters, among them James Polk, eventually derailed their friendship and association. Crockett lost his seat in Congress in 1831 when Jackson endorsed his opponent. In 1833, he won his seat back, this time running as an anti-Jacksonian. Crocketts fame continued to grow. His folksy speeches were very popular and he released an autobiography about young love, bear hunting, and honest politics. A play called The Lion of the West, with a character clearly based on Crockett was popular at the time and was a big hit. Exit from Congress Crockett had the charm and charisma to make a potential presidential candidate, and the Whig party, which was Jacksonââ¬â¢s opposition, had their eye on him. In 1835, however, he lost his seat in Congress to Adam Huntsman, who ran as a supporter of Jackson. Crockett knew he was down but not out, but he still wanted to get out of Washington for a while. In late 1835, Crockett made his way to Texas. The Road to San Antonio The Texas Revolution had just broken out with the first shots fired at the Battle of Gonzales, and Crockett discovered that the people had a great passion and sympathy for Texas. Flocks of men and families were making their way to Texas to fight with the possibility of getting land if the revolution was successful. Many believed Crockett was going there to fight for Texas. He was too good a politician to deny it. If he fought in Texas, his political career would benefit. He heard that the action was centered around San Antonio, so he headed there. Crockett at the Alamo Crockett arrived in Texas in early 1836 with a group of volunteers mostly from Tennessee who had made him their de facto leader. The Tennesseans with their long rifles were most welcome reinforcements at the poorly-defended fort. Morale at the Alamo surged, as the men were delighted to have such a famous man among them. Ever the skilled politician, Crockett even helped defuse tension between Jim Bowie, leader of the volunteers, and William Travis, commander of the enlisted men and ranking officer at the Alamo. Did Crockett Die at the Alamo? Crockett was at the Alamo on the morning of March 6, 1836, when the Mexican president and General Santa Anna ordered the Mexican army to attack. The Mexicans had overwhelming numbers and in 90 minutes they had overrun the Alamo, killing all inside. There is some controversy over Crocketts death. It is certain that a handful of rebels were taken alive and later executed by order of Santa Anna. Some historical sources suggest Crockett was one of them. Other sources say he fell in battle. Whatever the case, Crockett and about 200 men inside the Alamo fought bravely until the end. The Legacy of Davy Crockett: Davy Crockett was an important politician and an extremely skilled hunter and outdoorsman, but his lasting glory came with his death at the Battle of the Alamo. His martyrdom for the cause of Texas independence gave the rebel movement momentum when it needed it the most. The story of his heroic death, fighting for freedom against insurmountable odds, made its way east and inspired Texans as well as men from the United States to come and continue the fight. The fact that such a famous man gave his life for Texas was great publicity for the Texans cause. Crockett is a great Texan hero. The town of Crockett, Texas, is named after him, as is Crockett County in Tennessee and Fort Crockett on Galveston Island. There are many schools, parks, and landmarks named for him as well. The character of Crockett has appeared in countless films and TV shows. This is why Cadbury carefully considers the image of the product, the value it offers to the consumer and who is the target consumer, before it determines the price of any of its products. It is obvious that different Cadbury products, targeted at different segments of the market are priced differently. The decision on pricing does have an impact to the brand. For example Cadbury offers its bar chocolates at a premium price compared to Tescos or Sainsbury bar chocolates, for the mass market. Cadbury also sells some of its high end products to reflect a luxury image, and can command good premiums, example Cadbury Milk Tray, Cadbury Roses and Green Blacks. The price of a product is also dependent on customers perception of the brand which Cadbury takes into account before it prices its products. However, with the current economic scenario, Cadbury gives special deals, for example Cadbury Dairy Milk bars 20% more (means big ger size) at the same selling price without reducing the price and affecting the brand image. Cadbury priced to competitive price GBP per gram it is cheaper than the Cream, which allows differentiation. 3.3.3 Placement Cadbury chooses carefully the distribution channels it places its products based on the brand image of the products. For example for its Cadbury Dairy Milk bar range of products, because it is targeted to the mass consumer, this range of products are accessible across all channels, in all super and hypermarkets, chain retail outlets, other convenience stores and even in the mom and pop shops. For the premium products, eg Green Blacks brand, Cadbury carefully places them at high end outlet, such as Selfridges and Airports. Cadbury will be available across all distribution channels in the UK market. Focus will be in Hyper and Supermarkets as well as convenient stores, at prominent locations within the stores. Greater visibility will be provided at urban segments (both cities and towns). 3.3.4 Promotion Depending on the brand image, the target consumer and market, Cadbury carefully chooses its communication strategy to meet the objectives of increasing awareness and ultimately pulling the consumer to purchase its products. Every promotional activity has its own strategy and this can can vary from increasing brand awareness, maintaining the brand value, educate consumers about a new product, increasing seasonal purchases, or campaigns such as choose Cadbury to highlight the positive emotional value of the brand. However, due to the current economic downturn, Cadbury carefully selects its promotional activities; such that it has maximum returns for its promotional spend. With the advent of the electronic media, Cadbury has created a number of websites for its popular brands for consumer/members to be active. An effective organization achieves a fit between all these 7 key elements, and should any element change, it affects all other elements and hence the organization as a whole. The McKenzies 7S framework is made up of hard and soft elements. Hard elements are those which are easily identifiable and visible, whilst the Soft elements are those which are less visible and are below the surface.
